Each projects earns 0.3 RID Professional Studies CEUs upon completion   Cost $42.  

Each of these projects exposes participants to videos from well known and respected open-source materials on the internet (ie: TedX, Street Leverage, Gallaudet University,, etc) on topics in Deaf culture, interpreting skills, and specialty topics to earn CEUs.  RID CEUs are overseen & administered by RID Sponsor: Ginevra Deianni.  Chose from many options in the drop-down menu including: Voice Interpreting practice, Music Interpretations, Professional Ethics, Medical Interpreting, and Legal Interpreting.  

Participants watch approx 150 mins worth of videos (link provided to videos), take notes, and write reflection essays on what they have learned.  No book purchases required - all videos are free, on-line.  There is no specific time you must log in.  You work at your own pace independently. Any participant can return their reflections in video format using ASL instead of the written English documentation as well.  

NOTE:  You can do multiple projects of the same topic in one cycle if you want to earn more than 0.3 or 0.5 CEUs in a specific area.   For example, if you want to earn 1.5 CEUs in Voice Interpreting Practice, register for 3, and watch/analyze different videos.  The video library is extensive.  They will be labeled on your RID transcript as Part, 1, 2, 3, etc..

  • For Music Interpreting Practice: Participants gloss interpretations and assess grammar & classifier use.  
  • For Voice Interpreting Practice: Participants audio tape practice voicing sessions from chosen videos in our collection, and then transcribe their work.  The written transcription is returned - no audio recordings are sent.
